Star Oil Ghana has donated an operating table to the National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to support surgical care and reduce pressure on services at the facility.

The donation was presented on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, during a sod-cutting ceremony at the Centre, attended by officials from the hospital and the company.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Star Oil Ghana, Mr Philip Tieku, said the gesture forms part of the company’s long-term plan to build partnerships with institutions that play a critical role in national development, particularly healthcare. He also assured the hospital of Star Oil’s continued support.

The Chief Executive Officer of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Yakubu Seidu Adam, received the donation on behalf of management, together with members of the Central Management Team and the Head of the Centre, Dr Edem Anyigba. Dr Adam expressed appreciation for the support, noting the importance of private sector partnerships in strengthening service delivery.

Dr Anyigba said the operating table would ease operational challenges at the Centre and help improve care for patients who depend on its specialised services.
