The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the Black Stars will face Germany in a highly anticipated international friendly as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match is scheduled to take place in Stuttgart on Monday, March 30, according to GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum.

Ghana has been drawn into Group L for next year’s global showpiece, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The group features Panama, England, and Croatia, three challenging opponents that will test the Black Stars’ ambition to make a strong return to the knockout stages of the tournament.

The encounter with Germany is expected to serve as a key test of Ghana’s readiness and tactical sharpness ahead of their World Cup opener.

The four-time world champions will provide a stern challenge, offering valuable exposure to top-level competition as coach and players fine-tune their strategies before June.

The Black Stars will begin their 2026 campaign on June 17 against Panama in Toronto, followed by a showdown with England in Boston on June 23.

Their group stage campaign concludes on June 27 with a fixture against Croatia in Philadelphia, matches that will determine whether Ghana can progress beyond the group stage for the first time since 2010.

Next year’s tournament marks Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance after past participations in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022. The team’s most memorable outing came in South Africa in 2010, when they reached the quarter-finals and came within a penalty shootout of making history as the first African nation to reach the semifinals.
