Two persons have been arrested in Accra for changing the expiry dates on canned Lucozade energy drinks. They were arrested by officers of the Food and Drugs Authority, FDA at Andiana Royal Ventures, a warehouse in Hong Kong, near Lapaz.
A statement signed by the CEO of FDA, Delese Darko, said the two were “deliberately and fraudulently” changing the expiry dates on the drinks with batch numbers.
It said the Lucozade drinks have since been detained by FDA.
It therefore advised the public to critically examine any canned Lucozade they wish to patronize.
Meanwhile, FDA has warned the public to be on the lookout for another consignment of canned Lucozade drinks whose expiry dates have been tampered with.
