‘Unemployment reduces to 5.1%’- Minister

The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour Awuah,  says unemployment which stood at 7.9%  of the Employable Workforce in 2017, has reduced to 5.1%  this year.

According to the Minister, the plan of Government is to reduce the unemployment rate further to 2.1% in the shortest possible time.

The Employment Minister also revealed that statistics from SSNIT shows that from 2017 till date, 611,000 people have gained formal employment.

He was giving a presentation at the maiden Town Hall Meeting in Techiman, the Bono East Regional Capital.
