Ghana’s national long jump record holder, Deborah Acquah, has crashed out of the World Athletics Championship.
The Commonwealth bronze medalist needed to hit an automatic qualifying mark of 6.80 or rank 12th or above. Ms Acquah, however, did not make it after jumping 6.39, 6.50, and 6.25 in her first, second, and third attempts, respectively.
As a result, she ranked 18th out of 36.
Deborah is the first Ghanaian to have participated in the 2023 edition of the World Athletics Championship.
