Libyan football powerhouse Al Ahly Benghazi confirmed on Friday, October 24, 2025, the signing of Albert Amoah from Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko.
The 23-year-old forward joins the club immediately, marking a significant step up in his career to one of Libya’s most successful teams.
The announcement comes after a season of impressive performances that caught the eye of several clubs across North Africa and the Middle East.
Amoah has been a standout performer for Asante Kotoko since his arrival from Accra Great Olympics last season.
He scored an impressive 16 goals in 30 league matches, establishing himself as a key attacking threat and one of the most consistent players in Ghana’s top flight.
His combination of pace, composure, and clinical finishing made him a fan favorite at the Baba Yara Stadium.
In addition to his domestic exploits, Amoah also showcased his talent on the continental stage during the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary rounds.
He netted two goals in four appearances, even though Kotoko were eventually eliminated from the competition.
These performances played a major role in attracting interest from Al Ahly Benghazi, who moved quickly to secure his services.
Joining Al Ahly Benghazi, Amoah will become part of a club that regularly competes in CAF inter-club tournaments and boasts a rich history in Libyan football.
The move is seen as a major career milestone that will give him exposure to higher-level competition and further development opportunities.
This also highlights the growing trend of talented Ghanaian players catching the attention of North African clubs.
Asante Kotoko will now need to begin the search for a replacement to fill the void left by Amoah’s departure.
The club is expected to strengthen their squad as they continue to build momentum for the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
Amoah’s exit marks the end of a prolific chapter at Kotoko but opens a new, exciting journey for the young forward in Libya.
