The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has formally charged Berekum Chelsea for multiple violations of the Ghana Premier League Regulations. These charges stem from the club’s non-compliance during their recent 2025/26 league match against Asante Kotoko.
According to the GFA, Berekum Chelsea failed to adhere to key regulatory requirements expected of all participating clubs. Primarily, the club did not ensure that all players had their names displayed on the back of their jerseys, a mandatory rule aimed at enhancing player identification during matches.
In addition to the jersey name issue, Berekum Chelsea also neglected to organize a pre-match briefing for their head coach. This briefing is a standard procedure that facilitates communication and ensures that coaching staff are fully informed about league expectations and match protocols.
The GFA confirmed that investigations are ongoing and the club will face penalties as outlined in the league’s disciplinary code. The association stressed its commitment to enforcing regulations strictly to maintain the integrity and professionalism of the Ghana Premier League.
