The Ghana U-20 women’s national team, the Black Princesses, booked their place in the next round of the 2026 FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifiers after defeating Tunisia 2-0 in a commanding performance.
This victory marks Princesses second win over Tunisia in two legs showcasing their strength and determination on the continental stage. The breakthrough came in the 37th minute when Mercy Attobrah headed in the opening goal, igniting celebrations among the home supporters.
Her precise header put Ghana ahead, giving the team a crucial lead before halftime.
Just seconds into the second half, substitute Agnes Yeboah made an immediate impact with her first touch, doubling the lead at the 46th minute.
Yeboah’s quick adaptation and clinical finish provided the team with a comfortable cushion and dashed Tunisia’s hopes of a comeback.
Throughout the match, the Black Princesses displayed solid defensive organization and controlled the midfield, limiting Tunisia’s chances.
Their disciplined approach coupled with clinical finishing underscored why they remain strong contenders in the qualifiers. With this result, the Black Princesses advance confidently to the next stage of the qualifiers, keeping their dream of making a mark at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
