The Black Stars of Ghana have climbed one spot to 75th place in the latest FIFA world rankings, climbing from their previous position of 76th in consecutive updates. This improvement reflects the team’s recent performances in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana secured a crucial point in a draw against Chad and followed it up with a vital win over Mali during Matchday 8 of the qualifiers. These results contributed to the slight boost in their global ranking, showcasing progress as the team pushes toward qualifying for the World Cup finals.

Despite the rise in the overall FIFA rankings, Ghana’s continental standing remains unchanged. The Black Stars are still ranked 14th among African countries, reflecting the highly competitive nature of African football.

Coach Otto Addo and his squad will be looking to build on this momentum as they return to international action later this year. With further qualifiers scheduled, the team aims to improve both their global and continental rankings.

Ghana’s campaign will continue in October, with important matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros to conclude the year’s fixtures. These games are expected to be critical for Ghana’s hopes of securing a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
