Ghana’s Black Stars are set to continue their quest for a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a crucial Group I qualifier clash against the Central African Republic on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. The match will take place at the El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida, Morocco, as the four-time African champions aim to take a major step toward their fifth World Cup appearance.

With just two group matches remaining, the Black Stars know that securing maximum points against the Central African Republic’s Wild Beasts is essential for sustaining their position among the qualification frontrunners. Ghana currently ranks among the group’s leaders, but the narrow margin for error means every point will be fiercely contested.

Head coach Otto Addo plans to field a strong squad for the encounter, combining experienced Europe-based players with top-performing local talents. This blend aims to produce a balance of skill and resilience capable of overcoming the unpredictable challenge posed by the Central African Republic, a team known for causing upsets in recent qualification campaigns.

After the trip to Morocco, Ghana will return home to face Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 11. This home fixture is expected to be decisive for the group standings and could ultimately determine Ghana’s fate in their World Cup qualification campaign.

Both matches are pivotal in the Black Stars’ journey toward the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. A positive result on October 8 will be crucial in maintaining momentum and confidence as Ghana pushes to secure its place on football’s biggest stage once again.
