President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has unveiled a new prize package for the winners of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

During the 31st Ordinary Congress of the GFA held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Okraku revealed that the league champions will be awarded a substantial cash prize of GHC2 million.

Addressing delegates at the congress, Okraku outlined the prize money structure that will reward the top fifteen clubs according to their final league standings.

The cash incentives aim to boost competition and motivate clubs to deliver their best performances throughout the season. The runners-up position will carry a reward of GHC1 million, while the third and fourth place teams will receive GHC850,000 and GHC750,000 respectively.

The detailed prize breakdown announced covers all top fifteen clubs to ensure wide financial benefit across the league. Fifth place clubs will take home GHC700,000, with amounts gradually descending to GHC200,000 for 15th place.

This strategic move by the GFA is expected to enhance the financial stability of Ghanaian clubs and further professionalize the domestic league system.

The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season is scheduled to kick off on September 12, with clubs gearing up for what promises to be a highly competitive campaign. The announcement has been welcomed widely by teams, stakeholders, and football fans alike, signaling a positive step forward for Ghanaian football.
