The Ghana Football Association (GFA) are set to lead a special two-day interfaith thanksgiving service to celebrate the Black Stars’ qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This event underscores the nation’s pride in marking Ghana’s fifth appearance on football’s most prestigious global stage and a second consecutive qualification following the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
The thanksgiving services will bring together a diverse group of football stakeholders, religious leaders, and fans, united in expressing gratitude to God for the team’s achievement.
The first service is scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Imam Malik Hamburg Mosque in Maamobi, Accra.
This event will specifically engage Muslim members of the football fraternity in joint prayer and thanksgiving for the historic qualification.
A second service is planned for Sunday, October 26, 2025, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Christ the King Anglican Church in Sakumono.
This service will provide an opportunity for Christian members of the football family to also express their thanks in a spirit of unity and shared celebration.
All participants are requested to wear white attire throughout both events, symbolizing unity, purity, and gratitude.
The GFA President, Executive Council members, staff, and other football stakeholders are expected to attend both services, reinforcing the collective pride and faith that drive Ghana’s football spirit forward.
