Ghana’s Black Stars cruised to a 4-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago to claim third place in the 2025 Unity Cup at the G-Tech Stadium in West London.
The dominant performance was a strong response to their semi-final defeat to Nigeria, showcasing the team’s resilience and growing potential ahead of future international campaigns.
Coach Otto Addo handed starting roles to several new faces, and they repaid his trust with an impressive display.
Veteran forward Jordan Ayew opened the scoring early, setting the tone and providing leadership on the field. Razak Simpson doubled the lead with a powerful header, marking his first international goal.
Mohammed Fuseini added a third before half-time, capping off a slick team move assisted by Ayew. He nearly had a second, but his follow-up effort was ruled out for offside.
Lawrence Agyekum, of Belgian club Cercle Brugge, netted the fourth after capitalising on a goalkeeping error in the 59th minute. He was immediately replaced by Barcelona B’s Abdul Aziz Issah, who made his senior debut and brought stability to Ghana’s midfield.
Ghana’s convincing finish offers momentum heading into the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which resume in September.
