Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, the former Chief Justice of Ghana, has been appointed as the Deputy Chairperson of the FIFA Adjudicatory Chamber for a four-year term. The announcement was made during the 75th FIFA Congress held in Asunción, Paraguay, demonstrating a significant milestone in his career and underscoring his global influence in sports governance.
In his new role, Justice Anin-Yeboah will be instrumental in upholding ethical standards within international football. The Adjudicatory Chamber is a crucial part of FIFA’s Ethics Committee, responsible for examining cases brought forward by the Investigatory Chamber, deciding whether proceedings should proceed or be closed, and imposing sanctions based on FIFA’s regulations and statutes.
Justice Anin-Yeboah brings a wealth of legal and administrative expertise to the position. Having served as the 14th Chief Justice of Ghana, his judicial career is distinguished by a reputation for integrity and fairness. His involvement in football governance spans both locally within Ghana and internationally, with previous positions within the Ghana Football Association and service on FIFA’s judicial bodies.
His extensive experience in both legal and sporting institutions positions him to effectively support FIFA’s mission to safeguard the integrity of the sport. His leadership is expected to reinforce efforts to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability within global football governance.
The FIFA Adjudicatory Chamber is composed of several distinguished members, including María Claudia Rojas from Colombia as Chairperson, Fiti Sunia from American Samoa as Deputy Chairperson and other members from countries such as Chile, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Nigeria, Jamaica, and Turkey.
