Bibiani GoldStars FC have parted ways with head coach Frimpong Manso following their 2-0 home loss to Algerian side JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League preliminary round. The decision was confirmed on Monday, September 22, 2025, through Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, indicating a mutual agreement between the club and the coach to end their partnership.

Frimpong Manso, who took over the coaching role in December 2023, is celebrated for leading GoldStars to unprecedented success. Under his leadership, the team clinched their maiden Ghana Premier League title in the 2024/25 season, a historic achievement that marked a major milestone for the Bibiani-based club.

Additionally, Manso guided the team to victory in the GHALCA Top 4 Cup earlier in the year. Despite these domestic triumphs, GoldStars struggled in their first African campaign. The club’s debut match in the continent’s elite competition ended in disappointment as they were defeated 2-0 by JS Kabylie at the Accra Sports Stadium.

This result cast doubt on their chances to advance in the competition ahead of the crucial return leg in Algeria. Manso’s exit is a significant setback for GoldStars at a challenging time when they need to defend their league title and compete on the continental stage.

The club now faces a hectic schedule that will test the squad’s resilience and adaptability under new leadership. In the coming days, Bibiani GoldStars are expected to appoint an interim coach to oversee preparations for the second leg against JS Kabylie and the remainder of the Ghana Premier League season, as they strive to maintain momentum domestically and in Africa.
