Jeremie Frimpong is scheduled to undergo his medical with Liverpool this week as he prepares to complete a £30 million move from Bayer Leverkusen. The transfer is expected to be finalized shortly after the medical, marking a significant addition to Liverpool’s squad ahead of the new season.

The Reds identified Frimpong as the ideal replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is set to leave the club when his contract expires on June 30. Liverpool moved swiftly to secure the services of the versatile Dutch international, seeing him as a perfect fit for their defensive lineup and future plans.

Leverkusen has been eager to resolve the transfer amid ongoing changes within their club. With head coach Xabi Alonso expected to join Real Madrid, the German side has been keen to find a suitable successor and expedite the transfer process. The presence of a £30 million release clause in Frimpong’s contract has facilitated the deal’s rapid progression.

Frimpong has expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Premier League champions, making it clear that he would welcome the opportunity to play in England’s top flight. Personal terms between the player and Liverpool have already been agreed, paving the way for a smooth transition.
