Joseph Parker is hopeful his close friend Jarrell Miller can upset the odds and beat Anthony Joshua in their upcoming fight.
Joshua is set to defend his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight belts against ‘Big Baby’ on June 1 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Parker, who lost to Joshua himself back in March 31, is backing Miller to emerge victorious on the night against the 2012 Olympic gold medalist but did admit it will be a “hard task”.
‘Boxing antics, and things happen all the time, and you’ve just got to take it how it is,’ Parker told Sky Sports.
‘I’m good friends with Miller, so it’s one of those fights where I hope it goes well, and I hope he can pull it off, but it’s going to be a hard task, because Joshua is a champion.
‘I’m just going to be interested as a heavyweight boxer and a fan of the sport.
‘I think he got under his skin. Miller is just playing the game, doing what he has to do. It’s just one of those things where it’s interesting for boxing.
