Kekeli Foundation, an NGO supporting children with special needs, has donated five pairs of crutches to the Volta Para Sports team ahead of their upcoming games in Damongo.
The Foundation, led by Director Carrie Brown, is known for assisting children with special needs by paying school fees and providing physiotherapy support.
The donation was received by Volta and national team player Bright Asamoah on behalf of the team, with the chairperson of the Volta Para Sports Association, Betty Gharbin, in attendance.
Mrs Gharbin expressed appreciation to the Foundation, saying the support would boost the team’s preparations for the competition.
The donation forms part of the Kekeli Foundation’s wider efforts to promote inclusivity and support persons with disabilities.
The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) National Sports Wing is organising its Anniversary Games from 20–24 December 2025 at the Damongo Sports Complex.
Athletes with disabilities from all 16 regions of Ghana will compete in wheelchair basketball, para athletics, amputee soccer and a para boxing demonstration.
The Volta Para Sports Association will participate in the event and has been appealing to institutions and benevolent organisations for support.
Kekeli Foundation is a Ghana-based organisation affiliated with Kekeli, Inc., a US-based non-profit. Its work focuses on promoting human rights and empowering marginalised groups, especially persons with disabilities.
Its initiatives include creating self-advocacy groups for young people with disabilities, establishing parent self-help groups, promoting inclusion in education and society through arts and music, and supporting education and physiotherapy for children with special needs.
