Asante Kotoko winger Bernard Somuah has extended his loan with Spanish La Liga side RC Celta Vigo for another season, with an option for the club to make the move permanent at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
The 20-year-old initially joined Celta Vigo’s youth ranks on loan from Kotoko in August 2024. His strong performances with Celta B, the club’s reserve team competing in Spain’s third tier, Primera Federación, secured his place in the club’s plans.
During the 2024/25 season, Somuah made 29 appearances for Celta B, scoring five goals and providing four assists. He created 21 scoring chances, completed 47 successful dribbles, and maintained a pass accuracy of 83%. His pace and ability to beat defenders impressed head coach Claudio Giráldez, earning praise from both management and fans.
Though Celta B narrowly missed promotion playoffs, Somuah’s consistency and attacking threat were among the season’s highlights. The loan extension offers him another opportunity to develop and push for a place in Celta Vigo’s senior squad.
