Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus put up an impressive performance for Tottenham Hotspur, providing two assists in a commanding 3-0 victory over Premier League returnees Burnley on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Making his first Premier League start for Tottenham since completing a summer switch from West Ham United, the 25-year-old wasted little time in making an impact for his new club.
The action began early when Kudus delivered a precise cross in the 10th minute that found Brazilian forward Richarlison, who calmly finished to open the scoring and give Spurs a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Kudus’ vision and creativity were instantly on display, energizing the North London side’s attacking play.
After the break, Kudus once again proved instrumental by setting up Richarlison with a perfectly weighted pass inside the box.
The Brazilian forward responded with a spectacular acrobatic finish that doubled Tottenham’s advantage, thrilling the home crowd. The momentum was firmly with Spurs as the game progressed.
Welsh forward Brennan Johnson then sealed the victory in the 66th minute, rounding off an impressive afternoon for the team.
The confident performance demonstrated Spurs’ attacking firepower and cohesion under the management of Thomas Frank, leaving little doubt about their ambitions this season.
Kudus was substituted in the 85th minute for French youngster Mathys Tel, but his performance will have certainly caught the manager’s eye.
He will be hoping to retain his spot in the starting XI when Tottenham heads to the Etihad Stadium for a high-profile clash against Manchester City in their next Premier League outing.
