Tanzanian football giants Simba SC have secured the signing of Ghanaian striker Jonathan Sowah on a two-year contract, as the club aims to strengthen its squad ahead of an exciting domestic and continental campaign. Sowah joins the Msimbazi Reds from fellow NBC Premier League side Singida Black Stars, where he impressed last season with his goal-scoring ability.
The Ghanaian forward was a coveted player across several African clubs due to his prolific form and clinical finishing. However, Simba SC acted swiftly to finalize the transfer, underscoring their ambition to compete fiercely both in the Tanzanian Premier League and the CAF Champions League. The club confirmed that all registration formalities have been completed successfully.
A club insider commented on the acquisition, saying, “We are excited to welcome Jonathan Sowah to Simba. His quality and experience will be a great addition to our attack as we chase glory both at home and in Africa.” Sowah’s arrival bolsters Simba’s frontline, promising enhanced pace, power, and goal-scoring prowess.
Sowah, who previously played for Medeama SC in Ghana and made a significant impact at Singida Black Stars, is expected to bring versatility and depth to Simba’s attacking options. His experience in competitive leagues is seen as vital for Simba’s aspirations in the challenging CAF Champions League.
