Ghanaian football players delivered impressive performances across various international leagues during the weekend, showcasing their talents and making key contributions to their teams. Kamaldeen Sulemana, Joseph Paintsil, and Antoine Semenyo were among the standout performers, each scoring for their clubs.
In Italy’s Serie A, Kamaldeen Sulemana scored a brilliant goal for Atalanta, helping secure a 1-1 draw against Juventus. Meanwhile, in the MLS, Joseph Paintsil made history by netting the first hat-trick of his career in Los Angeles Galaxy’s dominant 4-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City.
Not to be outdone, Eugene Ansah scored twice to propel Ashdod to a 2-1 win against Kiryat Shmona in the Israeli top division. Ghanaian players were also influential in England, with Antoine Semenyo scoring his fourth league goal for Bournemouth in a 2-2 draw against Leeds United.
In the Championship, Brandon Thomas-Asante found the net as Coventry triumphed 3-0 over Birmingham. Several others, such as Mohammed Kudus at Tottenham and the duo Issahaku Fatawu and Jordan Ayew at Leicester City, featured prominently in draws across the English competitions.
Other notable contributions came from Bernard Tekpetey in Bulgaria, Ibrahim Sadiq in the Netherlands, and Kwame Peprah along with Abdul Samed Salis in France’s Ligue 1, where their participation helped shape key results for their respective clubs.
