The National Information Technology Agency (NITA) has officially launched the National ICT Week 2025, set to take place from August 25 to 28, 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the high-level event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, tech innovators, and development partners under the theme: “Ghana as Africa’s Digital Trade Hub – Innovation, Policy and Partnerships for the Future.”

The four-day celebration will highlight Ghana’s ambition to become the continent’s leading ICT and digital trade hub. The week will feature seminars, panel discussions, exhibitions, a documentary on digital trust for African trade, the launch of an e-commerce guidebook, and a startup pitch competition, among other activities.

Speaking at the launch on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, the Director General of NITA, Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor, emphasized government’s unwavering digital vision.

“We are scaling up Ghana’s digital capabilities through broadband expansion, e-government platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, and youth-oriented programs like Girls-in-ICT,” he stated.

Dr. Kevor also commended local innovation centers for their contributions, adding that “Tech hubs like MEST and Impact Hub are nurturing startups making waves across Africa.”

The event is expected to attract a wide range of key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, the AfCFTA Secretariat, Bank of Ghana, major telecommunications companies, fintech platforms, academic institutions, and development partners such as the World Bank, GIZ, and UNDP.
