Data Protection Commission steps up public education to protect personal data

The Data Protection Commission says it is engaging some critical stakeholders such as Facebook, Electoral Commission and Controller and Accountant General’s Department to step up public education on the need to protect personal data.

In this vein, the Commission has asked Ghanaians to be cautious of personal information they put out on social media as it engages these institutions.

Executive Director of the Commission, Patricia Adusei-Poku, who spoke at a media engagement prior to the celebration of Data Protection Week slated for 28th of this month, said the Commission will leave no stone unturned to protect the interest of Ghanaians.
