Government has been urged to speedily institute measures that will legalise the Blockchain Technology which is a decentralised data base that encrypts information.

It uses a digitised signature which makes it difficult to manipulate information.

Speaking at the maiden Blockchain summit in Accra, the Chief Executive Director of NIKGROUP International Limited, Nick Owusu said the technology will among other things prevent payroll fraud, fake licensing and deal with ghost names on the payroll.

The integration of the Blockchain Technology according to the Chief Executive Director of NIKGROUP International Limited, Nick Owusu, has become necessary due to the level of fraud associated with many transactions especially the government sector.

He stated that he has made several appeals to government to adopt the technology but it has not been positive.

A Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology Expert, Eric Annan said government will help Ghanaians if it fails to adopt the Blockchain Technology as the country can derive a lot of benefits from it.

Other experts in the Blockchain Technology asked government to consider the technology for the benefit of all.
