Government signs $24 million loan agreement to rehabilitate Dome-Kitase road

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Development has since 1977 supported Ghana with concessional facilities to undertake various projects.

The loan for the rehabilitation of the Dome-Kitase road is the 11th loan extended by the Kuwait Fund to Ghana.

The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta said the Dome-Kitase road project is in line with government’s agenda to accelerate road infrastructure development, especially critical road sections across the country.

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Atta outlined the various sections and designs of the road.

The Deputy Director-General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Development, Nedhal Alolayan said Kuwait is committed to strengthening its economic relations with Ghana.

The loan has a maturity period of 28 years and interest rate of 1.5% per annum.
