After the construction of the Madina – Adenta highway, footbridges designed to assist pedestrians’ crossover the highway were still uncompleted.

Pedestrians risked their lives daily on that stretch which led to an increased demand for the completion of these bridges.

Two years on the bridges are ready for use, yet people prefer to jaywalk or dash across the highway at the peril of their lives.

Some security personnel are now stationed there forcing pedestrians to use the footbridge.

Some have been punished to serve as a deterrent to other road users.
