The UK and EU have agreed to a flexible extension of Brexit until the 31st of October. Speaking after five hours of talks at an EU summit in Brussels, European Council President, Donald Tusk, urged the UK not to waste the time, adding that the course of action will be entirely in their hands.
He said the UK can still ratify the withdrawal agreement, in which case the extension can be terminated, or could rethink its strategy and cancel Brexit altogether. Meanwhile UK’s Prime Minister, Theresa May, says the country will still leave the EU as soon as possible.
