As part of measures to reduce carnage on the roads in the Ashanti Region, the Police is embarking on a special exercise dubbed, “Operation Produce Your Driver’s Licence” from next month.
A statement from the MTTD says the move is aimed at ensuring a vigorous enforcement of Regulation 47 of the Road Traffic Regulation, warning drivers that fail to produce their licences “will lead to the arrest of defaulting drivers and possible prosecution.”
The Service is asking every driver of any type of vehicle to carry his/her valid driver’s licence while driving on the road to avoid being arrested.
