Gov’t to receive 245 Ghanaian deportees from Kuwait

Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah during a press briefing Thursday has disclosed that 245 Ghanaians living in Kuwait illegally will be deported to Ghana.

According to the minister, the 245 deportees will arrive in Ghana tomorrow May 23, and will undergo mandatory quarantine.

“Since they are coming as deportees immigration laws governing such people will be used in processing them,” Hon. Oppong Nkrumah announced.

He said even though Ghana’s borders have been closed for sometime, exemptions have been given to other countries to evacuate their nationals, as such the Ghana government will have to cooperate.

He also stated that the government will take of all expenses for testing and treatment.
