The Chairman of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), Noble Wadza, has expressed worry about the indebtedness of Ghana Gas to GNPC.

He said the $942 million debt is affecting the power distribution management system and revenue generation as well as accountability.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana on PIAC’S 2020 semi-annual report, Mr. Wadza said the indebtedness and non-payment is a matter of serious concern.

Mr Wadza said the Ministry of Finance has persistently failed to provide data on the utilization of the annual budget funding amount to enable PIAC to conduct analysis and prepare a full report. Mr. Wadza said the situation is stifling accountability.
