The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), has encouraged drivers to use low beam light to improve visibility as the harmattan intensifies.

According to the Authority, the dry weather comes with low visibility and therefore urged drivers to properly use their light to avert head on collision on the road.

The Upper East Regional Manager of DVLA, Mutawakil Abdulai was speaking to GBC News in Bolgatanga.

Mr. Abdulai expressed concern about reports of over-speeding by long distance drivers in the night.

He said such vehicles use illegal helium bulbs that draw extra energy from the vehicle to give light having an effect on the eye.
