The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a public notice denying claims that it has received a medical report on Mr. Kenneth Ofori-Atta, a former government official currently under investigation.

According to the OSP, it has seen online media reports showing what is claimed to be a hospital letter containing medical details about Mr. Ofori-Atta. However, the office firmly states that neither Mr. Ofori-Atta nor his lawyers have submitted such a letter to the OSP.

The only official communication the OSP has received from Mr. Ofori-Atta’s legal team is a letter informing them of a change in his medical condition, based solely on their own claims.

“It is notable that this alleged hospital letter has been circulated through the media rather than submitted to the law enforcement agency actively investigating him,” the OSP pointed out.

The OSP in an official statement released on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, also made it clear that no certified medical records or official documents from any hospital have been submitted to confirm that Mr. Ofori-Atta is too ill or unable to return to Ghana.

The notice follows claims that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta had submitted a medical report to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) as the reason for his inability to appear for interrogation on June 2, 2025.
