The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has hosted a farewell breakfast meeting in honour of the outgoing British High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Harriet Thompson, commending her for her extraordinary service and commitment to deepening Ghana-UK relations.
Describing her as dynamic, warm, and exceptionally efficient, Mr. Ablakwa praised the High Commissioner for her tireless efforts over the past four years to strengthen the historic ties between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
The Minister adding, that her contributions had been instrumental in advancing cooperation in critical sectors such as trade, security, education, youth empowerment, health, and technical support for revenue mobilization.
Mr. Ablakwa also extended heartfelt gratitude to Her Excellency Harriet Thompson for her personal intervention in facilitating the emergency medical evacuation of Suzy Pinamang, a gesture he described as deeply appreciated.


Highlighting the High Commissioner’s impact beyond the capital, Mr. Ablakwa said the people of North Tongu remain grateful for her memorable 2022 working visit to Juapong Textiles, a significant moment that underscored her interest in supporting local industry and community development.
As she departs Ghana, the Minister conveyed the best wishes and prayers of the government and people of Ghana, expressing confidence that her legacy would continue to inspire stronger bilateral cooperation.
