Nineteen senior officers of the Ghana Police Service have been decorated with new ranks at a ceremony in Accra. The promotions mark significant milestones in their policing careers and reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening leadership within the Service.

The ceremony saw officers elevated from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), and from DCOP to Commissioner of Police (COP).

The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, who performed the decoration, charged the officers to remain steadfast in their duty to uphold law and order, and to continue safeguarding the peace, security, and stability of Ghana. He emphasized that the promotions were well-deserved and serve as an important motivation for all officers to strive for excellence in maintaining public safety and trust.
The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, said the elevation of the nineteen officers would significantly boost morale within the Service, inspiring them to perform with dedication and integrity as they work to uphold peace and security across the nation.
