Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has formally invited President John Dramani Mahama to the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
A delegation led by Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng I delivered the invitation on Monday during a courtesy call on the President at the Presidency in Accra.
The royal funeral will be held from September 15 to 18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
President Mahama extended heartfelt condolences to the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman, describing the Asantehemaa’s passing as an immense loss. He assured the delegation of his firm intention to attend the rites and pay his final respects.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98.
