The Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has announced new DStv subscription packages set to take effect from October 1, 2025.
The move follows a meeting between the government and operators of MultiChoice Ghana aimed at reducing subscription costs and increasing affordability for consumers.
At a press briefing in Accra on Monday, 29 September 2025, Sam George revealed that the new arrangements will give subscribers between 33% and 50% more value, depending on their package.
“MultiChoice Africa has committed to implement an unprecedented increased value offer only in Ghana, which will result in Ghanaian DStv subscribers getting more services for less,” the Minister said.
New package details:
- Padii Subscription (GHC59): Subscribers paying GHC59 will now automatically access the Second Bouquet valued at GHC99, gaining 35 extra channels — a savings of 40%.
- Second Bouquet (GHC99): Subscribers will be upgraded to the Family Bouquet valued at GHC190, with 19 additional channels. This represents a 48% savings.
- Family Package (GHC190): Subscribers will be upgraded to Compact (GHC380), giving them 22 more channels and live football access — a 50% savings.
- Compact (GHC380): Subscribers will be upgraded to Compact Plus (GHC500) with 12 additional channels, saving 33%.
- Compact Plus (GHC570): Subscribers will be upgraded to Premium (GHC865), gaining 18 more channels and saving 34%.
- Premium (GHC865): Subscribers will retain full access to the flagship bouquet but will also qualify for a draw to win fully paid trips to English Premier League matches, subject to terms and conditions.
Sam George stressed that the offer will apply to both existing and new subscribers, with no restrictions on bouquet selection.
He further described MultiChoice’s commitment as “over and above” expectations, noting that the government will continue to push for affordability and fairness in the telecommunications and digital services sector.

So, Premium subscribers effectively get nothing.
You better pull up your socks, FAST, or you are going to lose a whole lot more!!!!!
Correct. Discrimination??
In Kenya we no longer need DStv services.
I wish to thank the Minister of communication,Digital technology and innovation and Dstv Uganda for your services rendered to Uganda Subscribers.
However, to note is your prices are high.
I wish to Suggest that Dstv designs packages for those interest on sport channels,
Any upset on the weather is enough to distort broadcast.
The affordability of consumers is wanting therefore, revise your rates.
Hello Brethren. If you died today, what is your assurance that you will go to heaven?. For me my assurance is that I have accepted Jesus Christ, who died for all of us our sins, as my Lord and personal Saviour. Call on 0537259733
Is this what is important to the average Ghanian, will this open up the. Ommunication space in Ghana? What percentage of Ghanians have DSTV? These are elitist concerns and not concerns of the everyday Ghanian.
Is this package and discount for Ghanian only and not South Africans
That decision will reduce poverty to most Africans and who couldn’t afford to pay high premiums dstv account bills for less channels.
The on air extra view also they fail the customers because you sign 24 subscription and after that 24 months if want to cancel you don’t get to them. You send massages, emails and whatsup no reply.
Company like that are part of the decrease in dstv subscribers like my self I stop paying for dstv.
Give us sports channels Package we not interested in watching some channels
I don’t think dstv still have a way to go
Packages are high with the same content always
This is not fear, we keep streaming the same movies, once these vip decoders stabilize and stop buffering dear ones you won’t like it
In Uganda you have the worst workers, starting from RSMs to Tss
you forgot about uganda and arsenal fans.we also need to watch arsenal (premier league) at affordable prices
Is there a package where one could build your own programs and pay accordingly.

why don’t you have a special sports channel for all the sports that is not included in the premium package at a special price & also offer a special discount to all pensioners as we have to pay full price that thing is unfair if we not working anymore now then as I been doing it for the late 11 years now as a pensioner thenas mostly watch BBC channels and the sports channels only then
Always wanted a package that I could choose the channels required and pay accordingly. It will be a great move to satisfy customers.
We are tired of too much reputation of programs
What about sports channels
What is needed is reduction in subscription and not additional nonsense channels. The content is rubbish. To much repeatition. Movies and family channels I saw 15 years ago still showing. Better just show us news and sports not repeated nonsense.
This minister is on drugs I tell you. We are asking for reduction and he is doing nonsense package with increase channels
We left DSTV a month ago, shows why…more value in a Xioami TV box watching YouTube and movies as a once-off cost which is the same as the Premium monthly subscription for DSTV, we don’t watch sport anyway…
I am a viewer since 2000. Now i am a pensioner. Why can’t you give a pensioner discount on full package. The compact plus program sport channels are 90% soccer
Think also about the poor Ugandans that’s why we had resorted to using TV stick
That’s discrimination. What of other countries? If you guys want to reduce the burden on people let it be for all not just Ghanaians.
In Nigeria we don’t need you anymore.. if you can’t give us pay as you go, you will continue to loose more customers than before
Please consider a whole sports channel only and that would include rugby,.
I trust you will come up with a decision soon rather than later
DDTV Multichoice are just ungrateful to Africans if the truth be told. They have been in existence for secades now on our patronage. Noway they haven’t made their ROI, so why not the cost going down in the light of fairness to tthe people and their business.
Get sports channels only that covers a wide range. There are so many sports fans and you will automatically see a frwitj in subscribers
Make it worth while
The cost of DSTV and GoTV subscriptions is too high compared to the minimum wage in Nigeria, and many families cannot afford it. The government should step in and simplify the system so there are only two clear packages: DSTV full subscription at ₦10,000 and GoTV full subscription at ₦5,000, with no other plans or hidden categories. For once, the government should assist its citizens in a way that truly touches everybody, because if more than 50% of Nigerians can benefit, then every Nigerian is being touched. God bless Nigeria.Mamijo of lagos.
Since I can remember Multichoice had one problem.. We will force it down Your throat and U dont have a damn say in the story !! Secondly we facing s the repeats of movies and shows . who the F want to see the same Movies over and over and over again ? It doesn’t make sense .. Ive been in the dstv business for almost 20 years.. and I haven’t had any active Dstv decoder in my house for the last 10 years !!!
Maybe its time that South Africans Unite and start to Boycot Multichoice .. maybe then people will take notice ..
You people are already getting behind, in this age you guys supposed to upgrade 😂
Technology is advancing, and you people are not changing instead increasing price
Yes “pay as you go” is a better deal just like they have it in SA. Pls consider dis suggestion rather than upgrading customers to the next higher package and adding more channels.
