President John Dramani Mahama has assured motorists that traffic congestion on the Kasoa-Winneba road will soon reduce, as parts of the project are set to open to traffic within the next month.
Speaking after inspecting the ongoing works, the President expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far. He acknowledged the challenges commuters have faced but noted that relief is near.
“I understand the frustrations faced by commuters, but help is on the way. The contractor is doing good work, and we expect the project to be completed by December or, at the latest, the first quarter of next year,” he said.
The Kasoa-Winneba road project is expected to improve movement along one of the country’s busiest highways and boost economic activities in the area.
Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, attributed the steady progress of the project to government policy, which ensures that ongoing projects inherited from previous administrations are not abandoned.
He added that the government has paid more than GH₵12 billion to road contractors since 2025 to support the completion of key infrastructure projects across the country.
The project is on track for full completion by the end of the year.
