The Acting Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, together with the entire Judiciary and the Judicial Service of Ghana, has extended heartfelt condolences to the family and children of the late Former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

In a statement issued on Thursday, October 24, 2025, the Acting Chief Justice described Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings as “a woman of remarkable vision, courage, and conviction,” who dedicated her life to championing the causes of women and children in Ghana.

Throughout her public life, Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings was known for her tireless advocacy for gender equality and social justice. Her work through the 31st December Women’s Movement, the statement noted, remains a testament to her enduring commitment to the empowerment of women and children, as well as to national development.

“While her passing marks the end of an era, her influence will continue to resonate in the hearts of countless Ghanaians whose lives she touched through her service, compassion, and leadership,” the Acting Chief Justice said.

Justice Baffoe-Bonnie further expressed the Judiciary’s solidarity with the bereaved family of the late President Jerry John Rawlings, their children, and all Ghanaians mourning this loss.

“We pray that the Almighty God grants comfort to the bereaved family and eternal rest to her gentle soul,” the statement concluded.

Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is remembered as one of Ghana’s most influential female leaders, whose lifelong commitment to women’s rights and social empowerment has left an indelible mark on the nation’s history.
