The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has halted the processing of two categories of allowances for some government workers, especially those in the education sector, after a technical glitch disrupted its final November payroll run.

In a statement issued and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Cephas N. Dosco, on November 25, 2025, the department said the fault forced officials to suspend the allowances to prevent delays to November salaries for all Government of Ghana workers.

CAGD says the issue is being resolved, and the outstanding allowances will now be paid with the December 2025 salaries on 18 December.

The department apologised for the inconvenience.
