‎World number one in Tennis, Carlos Alcaraz, has made history by becoming the youngest man to complete a career Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open men’s singles title.

‎The 22-year-old defeated Serbia’s Novak Djokovic in the final at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Sunday February 1, 2026. Alcaraz won the match in four sets, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5, to lift his first Australian Open trophy.

‎With the victory, Alcaraz has now won all four major tennis titles, the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open at least once. This achievement makes him the youngest man to complete a career Grand Slam, breaking a long-standing record held by Don Budge since 1938.

‎The final was described as a clash of generations. Alcaraz was just four years old when Djokovic first reached the Australian Open final in 2008. Despite losing the first set, the young Spaniard showed great composure and strength to dominate the rest of the match.

‎The defeat also denied Novak Djokovic a chance to win a record 25th Grand Slam title. Alcaraz, who already has two titles each at the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open, celebrated his historic win with the Melbourne crowd after the match.

‎His victory further confirms his place as one of the greatest young talents in the history of men’s tennis.
