The District Chief Executive for Nabdam in the Upper East Region, Francis Tobig Yenwona, has raised serious concerns over the slow pace of work on the Agenda 111 Hospital Project at Nangodi, describing the situation as worrying and unacceptable.
“The Nabdam District does not have a district hospital. We were hoping that this would be completed to support in that regard but work has stopped,” he lamented.
According to the DCE, the contractor responsible for the construction has abandoned the site for a considerable period, leaving the project far from completion. He noted that the stalled project has denied residents access to improved healthcare services the facility was intended to provide.
“Even some casual workers who were engaged by the contractor have not been paid their monies and they cannot also find him. It’s a sad situation. Minister, your intervention in this health issue is key,” he pleaded.

Mr. Tobig made these remarks during a meeting with the Minister for Health, Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, in Bolgatanga. The engagement formed part of the Minister’s visit to assess the postings of medical doctors and interact with key stakeholders in the region..
The DCE stressed that the completion of the hospital remains a top priority for the people of Nabdam, who continue to travel long distances to access quality medical care. He appealed to the Health Minister to intervene and ensure that the contractor returns to site or that necessary measures are taken to complete the project without further delay.
He further emphasised that the timely completion of the facility would significantly ease pressure on existing health centres and improve emergency response within the district.
Residents, he added, are hopeful that government will act swiftly to revive the project and fulfill its commitment under the AGENDA 111 initiative.
