One person has died following a road traffic collision at Teacher Mantey on the Accra–Kumasi Highway, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), has said.
In a Facebook post, the service said personnel from its Suhum Municipal Fire Station responded to the incident in the early hours of March 7.
A six-member rescue team led by ADO II Bright Ocansey arrived at the scene and found a Toyota Voxy that had crashed into a parked MAN Diesel truck.
Firefighters retrieved the body of a male occupant who had been trapped in the vehicle and handed it over to the police.
Eyewitnesses said the Toyota Voxy was allegedly speeding before it ran into the stationary truck, leaving the vehicle badly damaged.
The fire crew later cleared the scene and returned safely to base, the service added.
