The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Publishers Company (GPC), Nana Kwesi Boatey (Esq.), has stated that publishers are often so committed to the arts that they pay less attention to commercialization.
He noted that it is unfortunate that publishers have not benefited sufficiently from the sacrifices they make behind the scenes.

Speaking at the 50th Anniversary launch and Logo unveiling of the GPC in Accra today, Mr. Boatey mentioned that though, there is the need for Ghanaians to preserve stories by telling it themselves, there is still the need to ensure it gets to the reader.
Mr. Boatey encouraged publishers to “partner with people who know how to sell your stories and make you rich. I have no doubt that many William Shakespeares have emerged from Ghana”.
