Christian Chibueze, a Ghana FA Coaching License B holder, is gradually establishing himself as one of the most consistent and tactically astute coaches within the Volta Region’s highly competitive lower-tier football structure.

His growing résumé reflects not only experience, but also a deep understanding of the demands of the Regional Middle League, the final and ultimate phase of the Division Two League, a challenging pathway that separates hopeful contenders from the Division One League.

Christian Chibueze’s journey in the Middle League dates back to the 2016/17 season, when he served as assistant coach to his late mentor, Christopher Tsomafo (Togovi).

That campaign unfortunately ended in disappointment, as the team narrowly missed out on promotion, with Agbozume Weavers ultimately securing the Division One League slot that year and competing in the 2017/2018 Division One League season.

He later returned to the competition as head coach of Home Stars FC, played in the Division Two League for a while.

In the 2020/21 season, he guided the side to the final, but they were defeated by Akatsi All Stars FC, who went on to earn promotion to the 2021/22 Division One League.

Undeterred yet a difficult moment for him, Chibueze returned stronger in his third Middle League campaign, again with Home Stars FC, this time round, he achieved redemption, leading the team to victory over Inter Allies FC in a 4-2 penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in the final to secure qualification to the 2023/24 season of the Division One League.

Now in his fourth attempt, he is writing a new chapter with Nukunu Football Academy.

He has already secured qualification for the club to its maiden Regional Middle League appearance after a flawless qualifying campaign, topping the Southern Sector “A” group in the preliminaries and subsequently in the Sub-Middle League with a game to spare.

For Coach Christain Chibueze, this is a good feeling attaining such a feat, he would want to stay focus and work harder to achieve the set objective.

“It feels good to be where we find ourselves and that’s thanks everyone at Nukunu FC for their commitment. We need to keep focus and double work to achieve our objective.” he said.

For the records and for the club, this further underlines Coach Christain Chibueze’s growing influence in Volta Region’s football landscape.

The big question now is whether experience will once again translate into success, as he targets another promotion to the Division One League.

If history is anything to go by, Christian Chibueze remains a coach who understands both the road and the terrain of the Middle League.
