The contempt case involving the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante Apietu and the Director General of the CID Maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah has been adjourned as a result of their absence in court.
When the case was called their representatives met in chambers with the judge.
The Inspector-General of Police and Director-General of the CID were expected to appear in court Monday, July 22, 2019, to face charges of contempt following the disregard of a court order in March this year to grant bail to Gregory Afoko, the suspected murderer of former New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Upper East Regional Chairman Adams Mahama.
The judge was expected to deliver a ruling on whether the inaction of the two security chiefs was contempt of court.
The case has been adjourned to the 10th of October for the IGP and the CID boss to be present in person.
