The Daily Graphic bemoans the depreciation of the Cedi against the Dollar and says short-term approaches to shore-up the cedi are all unsustainable. The paper calls for reforms which will encourage capital retention within the domestic economy to move it up the global value chain. It opines that this is what fiscal and monetary policies of government and the Central bank should seek to achieve within the medium term.

The Daily Heritage observes that sometimes very ill people are not attended to timeously at the country’s health facilities. It notes that this is unavoidable when there is pressure on medical personnel, but the best strategy is to provide first aid to the vulnerable, instead of leaving them in long queues.  The paper suggests adequate emergency preparedness at health facilities and for personnel to familiarise themselves with treatment protocols to prevent avoidable deaths.
