The Ghanaian Times lauds government for the Planting for Food Initiative. It says though this is a bold initiative, government must put proactive measures in place to achieve the best results. The paper says agriculture has been touted as a game changer in the development of countries thus it believes government will continue to come up with initiatives that will boost the sector and create jobs. The Times looks forward to the successful implementation of the Planting for Food and Export initiative and hopes it would boost the country’s agricultural sector and ultimately the economy.

The Daily Graphic believes that while it may be exciting to have one’s preferred town chosen as the capital of the new region, the purpose for which the new regions were created will be defeated if the focus of the bold step taken by the Akufo-Addo government is placed on the towns that become the capitals. The paper thinks emphasis should rather be placed on the best ways the newly created regions will receive the needed resources to fast-track development to be par with the other 10 regions. It therefore urges the people of Nalerigu, the capital of the 11th region, North East, and Damongo, the capital of the 12th region, Savannah, to work hard to make the towns befitting capitals and do well not to betray the confidence reposed in them by the President.
