The Ghanaian Times believes it is wise to ask parents who are capable of funding their wards school fees do so and not rely on the Free SHS policy. The paper is of the view that there are many parents who are willing and capable of funding their wards fees. It therefore appeals to government to listen to suggestion from the participants in the Graphic Business forum as well as others to fashion out a policy that would accommodate some of these views. It believes that the policy has been accepted universally as a unique social intervention and everything must be done to ensure its success.

The Daily Graphic expresses concern about drains that are left uncovered, posing danger to motorists and pedestrians. The paper appreciates efforts by the Ministry of Roads and Highways, Department of Urban Roads and the Ghana Highway Authority to ensure that drains being constructed and old ones are being covered. A sizeable number of these drains remain open. The Graphic is particularly worried because victims of these open drains are usually the vulnerable in society such as women, children and physically challenged persons. What makes it so worrisome for the paper is that these open drains are found in the pathway of pedestrians and cyclist. It therefore calls on the Roads Ministry, and other agencies to devise a strategy to ensure that hoodlums and bad nuts who steal the covers of these drains face the full rigors of the law.
