The Ghanaian Times is excited about President Akufo-Addo’s proposal to name the University of Development Studies after Former President Jerry John Rawlings. The paper join hands with the President to urge the University to name UDS after the former President. The Times believes Mr. Rawlings deserves the honor because he contributed to what the university is today and therefore must be immortalized for generations yet unborn to learn about his good deeds.

The Daily Graphic believes that, stakeholders in elections must not wait till election years before embarking on public education on electoral issues especially with regards to voting procedures and thumb printing. The paper says it is unfortunate that the canker of rejected ballots has been with the system for so long and the earlier it is dealt with, the better. The paper therefore thinks if the country makes conscious effort to address the problem sooner than later, Ghana will be looking at electronic or mail voting to further enrich its democracy.
